Brochures or Rack Cards
Brochures or rack cards are ideal for presenting a large amount of information at-a-glance.
They are single-sided or folded and must be professionally printed.

Booklets
Booklets or programs are single or multipage documents, often folded to half-page size (5.5″ x 8.5″).
They are great for presenting a large amount of text at a convenient size. They must be printed professionally.

Flyers or Handouts
Flyers or handouts are typically Letter size (8.5″ x 11″).
They can be like posters with brief text designed to get attention or have a large amount of text to provide information.
These can be printed in-house or professionally.
Here is an example quote: (400) flyers, two-sided, full color costs $368. We will need to request a custom quote for your project.
If you plan on sending the flyer digitally (email, posting on a website, in Teams, et cetera), it must be accessible.
Notecards or Postcards
Notecards or postcards are typically 4.25 x 5.5 or larger sizes like 5×7 and printed on cardstock.
Notecards may be double-sided or single sided.
Postcards are always double-sided with the second side set up for mailing.
These must be professionally printed.

Posters
Posters can be a variety of sizes. A common size for bulletin boards is Tabloid (11″ x 17″.)
Marketing posters are designed to be viewed from a distance to grab attention. They contain brief text, usually a headline, subheadline, call to action, and a logo.
Exhibition posters are designed to be read by one person close up. They are essentially an detailed article printed on a large sheet of paper or other material. Examples of these can be found here.
11×17 posters can be printed in-house. Larger posters must be professionally printed. See Printing Services for information on where posters can be displayed on campus.
Publications
Print publications are magazines, reports, briefings, or other multipage document. They are professionally printed and sometimes also provided digitally.
They can be bound in a variety of ways (saddle stapled or stitched, hole punch, comb binding, et cetera.) It’s important we know the type of binding you’d like at the start of your project.
Publications are professionally designed and not editable by users.
